What to ask, what to compare, and what the line items actually mean — for anyone renting a luxury car in Florida for the first time.

Before you reserve any car at any Florida rental, get these four numbers in writing:
1. Daily rate — what shows on the listing. 2. Security deposit — should be authorized as a hold, not charged. 3. Included mileage and overage rate — usually 100 miles/day on exotics, 150 on others; overage typically $3–$4 per mile. 4. Total at pickup — daily × days + delivery fee (if any) + taxes.
If any of those are vague, walk away. We publish all four on every car page before booking.
Every legitimate Florida luxury rental includes liability coverage at Florida statutory minimum ($10K bodily injury, $10K property damage). This protects third parties, not the car.
For collision, you are on your own — most renters use credit-card collision coverage. Confirm value cap and primary/secondary status with your card issuer before arrival.

Red flag:
Most Florida luxury rentals restrict you to staying inside the state and within 100 miles of the rental office. If you plan to drive to Atlanta or Charleston, ask for written approval; most companies will deny, ours included.
The headline Lamborghini and Ferrari numbers are good for photos, but for a first Florida rental we recommend something easier: Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, Mercedes-AMG GT, Bentley Continental GT, Range Rover. Each is fast, comfortable, drama-free in valet lines, and forgiving on speed bumps.
If you do want the headline car — the Huracán Spyder or 488 Spider — start there. Both are easier to drive than they look.
