Insurance & Protection

Coverage expectations, renter responsibility, and optional protection terms for ExoticWhips rentals.

Last updated: May 9, 2026

This page is a practical summary for customers. The signed rental agreement, quote, invoice, and written confirmations control the final terms of each reservation.

Coverage requirement

Every renter must provide proof of an active full-coverage auto insurance policy in the primary renter’s name. The policy must include collision, comprehensive, and liability coverage and must transfer to the rental vehicle. Even on a primary vehicle of modest value, full coverage typically extends across all 50 states for the rental period.

Proof of insurance

  • A current insurance card, declarations page, or carrier confirmation is required before delivery.
  • The policy must be active for the full rental period and must cover the renter and any approved additional drivers.
  • ExoticWhips may verify coverage directly with the insurance carrier or request additional documentation for high-value vehicles.
  • American Express Premium Insurance may act as the primary insurance during the rental period when properly activated by the cardholder.

Renter responsibility

  • The renter is financially responsible for loss, theft, damage, diminished value, loss of use, towing, storage, administrative fees, and deductible amounts to the extent allowed by the rental agreement and applicable law.
  • Unauthorized drivers, prohibited use, impaired driving, leaving Florida without approval, or failure to report an incident may void protection options and increase renter responsibility.
  • All incidents, accidents, theft, vandalism, warning lights, mechanical concerns, or damage must be reported to ExoticWhips immediately.

Optional protection

Supplemental protection or collision damage waiver options may be available for select rentals. Availability, limits, exclusions, deductibles, and pricing vary by vehicle and reservation. Any protection option must be confirmed in writing before the rental starts.

What is not covered

  • Interior damage, smoking, burns, stains, tire or wheel damage, windshield chips, reckless use, off-road use, racing, towing, and mechanical damage caused by misuse may be excluded.
  • Personal belongings left in the vehicle are the renter’s responsibility.
  • Tickets, tolls, parking, impound, and law-enforcement charges are not insurance claims and remain the renter’s responsibility.
