Sports car vs. supercar — why it matters

A Lamborghini Aventador attracts a crowd. A Porsche 911 Turbo S attracts opinions only from people who already know what it is. The first is louder, the second is faster on any real road. Both are great for Miami, but they suit different trips.

• Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet — 640 hp, 0–60 in 2.6 sec, all-wheel drive, rear-axle steering. The most capable car in our fleet.
• Porsche 911 GT3 — 502 hp NA flat-six, manual or PDK, track-focused. Rent for the drive, not the photos.
• Mercedes-AMG GT — V8 biturbo, 577 hp, beautiful coupe shape, GT not supercar character.
• Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 — mid-engine, 670 hp NA flat-plane V8, the best-value supercar in the United States right now.
• Audi R8 V10 — naturally aspirated 5.2 V10, shared with the Huracán, more subtle exterior.
• Lamborghini Huracán Coupe — if you want supercar with sports-car drivability.

When to choose what

• Keys run, two adults, 350 miles — Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.
• Photo shoot in Wynwood — Audi R8 (the sleeper) or Corvette Z06 (the loudest yellow car in the city).
• Track day at PBIR — Porsche 911 GT3.
• Dinner in Brickell, then home — Mercedes-AMG GT.
• All of the above on the same trip — Huracán Coupe.

Pricing

Sports cars sit one rung below supercars in our pricing — daily rates typically $700–$1,400. Two-day weekend minimum. 150 included miles per day on most (vs. 100 on the exotics). Same deposit rules, same free Miami-Dade delivery.
