Taxes and fees in Georgia

Georgia does not charge regular sales tax on vehicles. Instead you pay a one-time Title Ad Valorem Tax (TAVT) — 7% of the taxable value — when the car is titled in your county. After that, annual registration is a modest flat fee.

Registration and inspections
